Cycle to Work is a government scheme, aimed at making cycling more affordable and accessible for commuters and leisure riders. It's a simple three-step process, which will help you save up to 42% on a brand new bike, cycling accessories or a combination of the two!

Step 1 - Choose your Bike and Equipment in one of our participating stores.

You can take advantage of Cycle to Work in one of our participating stores. See attached list. The scheme includes all pedal bikes and electric bikes. Simply browse our range of bikes and accessories and decide on a package that suits you. The minimum amount needs to be £750 there is no maximum amount. The scheme includes pedal bikes and electric bikes.

Your Cycle to Work allowance can be used against a bike, accessories, or a combination of the two. Accessories such as a cycle helmet, a good secure lock and lights would be a sensible choice, while a pannier rack or basket will make taking your packed lunch to work a doddle.

You will need to request a quote from our in-store team.

We recommend you reserve your bike as soon as you’ve received your quote, by paying a small refundable deposit (£50); this deposit is fully refundable on bikes that are in-stock only. This ensures you don’t miss out on the bike you’ve picked out, and also means you’ll get your bike quicker!

Step 2 - Request Your Cycle to Work Certificate via your employer.

Once you’ve chosen your bike and gear, you need to check with your HR / Finance department whether your company is already enrolled on a Cycle to Work scheme. We accept vouchers for the Cycle to Work scheme from the following provider:

The Green Commute Initiative

The information required would include:

•    Bike model, size and colour
•    Any accessories, including size and colour
•    Your home address
•    Your email address
•    Your contact number
•    Your employer’s name and address

Once you’ve got your quote, simply present it to your employer, who will in turn apply to the The Green Commute Initiative.

If your employer isn’t registered yet…

You can invite them to join The Green Commute Initiative. Once they’re registered, simply follow the quote request process above to get your quote.

Step 3 - Receive Your Equipment & Hit the Road!

Once you have your voucher / certificate, simply bring it in store.

We’ll redeem your voucher with The Green Commute Initiative via their website using your individual PIN number and when authorised, which is normally immediately will hand over your bike fully built and ready to ride.

Frequently Asked Questions:

1) How does the Cycle to Work scheme work?

If you’re a UK employee, Cycle to Work allows you to spread the cost of a new bike and equipment, by paying in instalments taken directly from your wage. The payments are taken out of your gross wage and your Tax & NI contributions are then worked out based on your new lower gross wage, saving you money on your new bike and equipment. You’ll enter into a hire agreement with your employer, who owns the bike for the period of the agreement. At the end of this period you own the bike.

With the Cycle to Work scheme provider The Green Commute Initiative there is no maximum to the amount you can spend on a bike and equipment:

•    Any adult bike
•    Cycle helmet
•    Bells and bulb horn
•    Lights including dynamo pack
•    Mirrors and mudguards
•    Panniers, luggage carriers and straps to allow luggage to be safely carried
•    Locks and chains to secure the bike
•    Pumps, puncture repair kits, cycle tools and tyre sealant to allow for minor repairs
•    White front reflectors and spoke reflectors.
